Welcome to Anscape Fine Art

I am Heidi Dunbar Jonson, a professional artist and owner of Anscape Fine Art. 

‘Anscape’ is derived from escape and landscape as I have always used my art as an escape from everyday life. 

Since age 16, my art has been sold to individuals and businesses for display in home and corporate settings. Having studied both Art and Law in the UK, I juggle my art alongside a corporate career.    

I specialise in land and seascapes and my work extends to African pieces, portraiture, animals, and loose botanic arrangements. I enjoy creating both realistic and abstract compositions.  

I am drawn to interpret the raw coastal energy and textures of rugged land, seas and skies, by contrast to the rigid structures and linear compositions of cityscapes.  I am based  on the beautiful Surf Coast in Victoria where both can be easily accessible. I am a regular participant in the Archibald, exhibit in various galleries and also use my art to support local and charitable organisations.  

I typically paint commissioned work, and my paintings have been exhibited or sold in South Africa, London, Fiji, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York.  

I believe that it is important to find stillness from the complexities of life and I continue to learn and strive to create and share art that stimulates expression, contrasts, and serenity.
